Tech journo's, in my opinion, stand in and fill up the gaps between the mass reader and the IT community that’s churning all the news...All that happens in the world of technology is not understood by the layman, and here is where the journo step in, break the issue into bite size pieces and lay it out for the reader intelligently!
A tech journalist doesn't necessarily need in-depth knowledge about technology, it depends on the publication you're working for and which topics you're going to cover. I worked for a computer magazine for six years and some of my colleagues weren't very knowledgeable about computers, but they wrote about Internet phenomena and software and such, acquiring knowledge by research and using these products, even if they might not even know how to reinstall Windows. But some publications are much more technical.
Most of the journalists in the tech journalism in India are non-techies.Not being a techie doesnt make too much of a difference as long as you're open to learning.you need hardcore technical knowledge only if you're reviewing a product, something which only a few magazines do and isnt a big deal as well. This field only requires you to be interested in learning technology. But in case you hate technology to the core, then there's no reason y you should get into this field

In Linux systems, we usually refer installation file as a Package.A package contains the necessary shared library files, configuration files, man pages, etc combined into a single package file. Thus a package is nothing but an installation source from which u install a program or software in your system, unfortunately on Linux we have more than one type of package systems available, the most commonly used is RPM called as RedHat Package Manager which is used by Redhat, Caldera, SuSE, Mandrake, etc. In Debian based systems like Ubuntu we have package manager called Debian's DPKG.
Almost every command or application that is available belongs to one of the packages installed on the system. If we need to remove any unwanted program we can do that by removing the corresponding package. Some programs depend on other programs to work; this is called as package dependency.
Package Management with Repositories:
Unlike installing packages from local source like files available on the disk, we can install packages from the internet with the help of the online repositories. To install and manage packages with these online repositories, RedHat based systems has yum (Yellodog Updater Modified) while Debian based systems has apt-get for the same purpose. The advantage of this kind of package management with repositories is that we can install automatically all the necessary dependency files needed for our required package. Thus the package management becomes very easy with these repositories.

In early days Computers almost occupy huge buildings. Then, as the technology advanced the size of the computers gradually decreased. Desktop created a revolution in the technology world. Then introduction of laptops and palmtops are easily attracted by many users. As the size decreases its portability increases.
In present scenario everyone wants to keep in touch of their system while on move. Though laptops satisfy their needs its quite big in many cases. Palmtops do not satisfy many requirements as their processors are small so it has only limited functionalities.
Here is the solution for these problems. Now you can use your system anywhere on the move with complete functionalities. Computers that can be folded to a size that can fit pockets are coming closer to reality. Its all the efforts from Researchers of sony and Max Planck Institute to develop such systems. Now they are almost reached reality in achieving the prototype of foldable computers.
For the first time bendable LED's are displayed based on red or IR- A light conversion. Invention of these LED's also may lead to dynamic image posters that move around and also lets users and readers to upload daily news and other personal stuffs to an easy-to-carry display contraption.
So within days people may carry their foldable systems in their pockets to wherever they go.
